The COVID-19 pandemic requires extensive tax relief on all tax deadlines and payments, the accountants group said in a statement. People or businesses that don't have April 15 filing dates, such as those with estate, payroll or excise taxes due, would benefit from a deadline extension as well, according to the release.
The IRS on Tuesday uploaded an FAQ page on the filing and payment extensions announced last week, specifying that most non-April 15 tax filers will not such extensions. The relief is appreciated, but not enough, the CPA group said.
