As part of a broader regulatory relief package issued Friday, Gov. Kim Reynolds delayed the imposition of penalties and interest for late property and alcohol tax payments from March 19 through April 16, the end date for the proclamation's provisions.
The relief measures, which also include suspension of evictions and permit deadline extensions, were offered as regulatory aid to Iowans affected by the novel coronavirus, which causes COVID-19. Reynolds' proclamation came a day after the state Department of Revenue extended the filing deadlines for most returns.
