Virginia joins the federal government and many other states in adjusting payment or filing deadlines, or both, amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. However, Virginia is extending only the payment deadline; taxpayers are expected to file on time unless they have an extension. The extension for payments applies to individual and corporate income taxes and estimated tax payments that were due within the period.
