Appeal by Najaripour from dismissal of her application for judicial review of arbitrator’s decision. The appellant argued that the chambers judge erred in law in failing to find that the Arbitrator was patently unreasonable in making her Residential Tenancy Branch (“RTB”) decision and erred in law in failing to conclude that the RTB Decision was procedurally unfair.

Man sentenced to four years in jail for Alberta real estate fraud over $10M
The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) has announced that Ronald James Aitkens has been sentenced to four years in jail by the Alberta Court of Justice for fraud of over $10 million. He was sentenced by Justice L.W. Robertson on Aug. 15.

Appeal by appellants from motion judge’s decision granting partial summary judgment on issue of liability in favour of respondent and further moved for admission of fresh evidence. The appellants argued that the motion judge improperly rendered partial summary judgment rather than remitting the matter to trial. The respondent was the seller and owner of a property located in Mississauga (“Property”). The respondent entered into an Agreement of Purchase and Sale (“Agreement”) for the Property with the appellant, Ahmed2 Inc.
