Criminal jury trials and jury selections are adjourned until Sept. 8, according to the court’s master order #3. A list of emergency and urgent matters is set out in Appendix D of the master order.
The Supreme Court of British Columbia has also made several announcements regarding their procedures for the electronic filing of documents. For the duration of the suspension of regular operations at the Supreme Court, certificates of pending litigation, certificates of judgment and certificates of commencement of proceedings may be transmitted electronically. The court has also issued notices to the profession encouraging the use of e-filing for certain family and civil desk order applications, as well as bankruptcy desk order applications. Court Services Online will also allow e-filing through the use of a Basic BCeID account.
