The decision to launch a Canadian edition of the prestigious Law360 news brand reflects our commitment to create a market-leading offering for premium legal news worldwide while maintaining local news, on-the-ground reporting and expert analysis in Canada.
For nearly 40 years our growing team of Canadian reporters, editors and experts has brought you the legal news, analysis and commentary you rely on to stay informed and maintain your expertise. Our publication has a rich history, beginning with the print newspaper Ontario Lawyers Weekly (as it was originally called before becoming The Lawyers Weekly) in 1983, to evolving into The Lawyer’s Daily in 2017.
In the first issue of the Ontario Lawyers Weekly, then managing editor Michael Fitz-James wrote “In a rapidly changing world a lawyer’s biggest problem is getting up-to-date information.”
Moving from a weekly print publication to an online daily in 2017 allowed our team to improve upon the way we provide current awareness to Canadian legal professionals. And we didn’t stop there. We continued to grow as a group of editors and journalists. Last year we launched Legal Wire as part of The Lawyer’s Daily, covering corporate-commercial litigation and business law as it happens.
As Law360 Canada, our mission and commitment to our readers remains the same. We will continue to deliver the trusted editorial content our readers rely on, providing critical breaking news and insight to help keep you informed and ahead of the curve.
Only time will tell where the next 40 years will take us, but I’m confident the challenge Fitz-James identified in 1983 — staying up to date in a rapidly changing world — will remain. As Law360 Canada, we are committed to assist legal professionals in meeting this ongoing challenge head on.
