Recipients announced for 2025 Law Society on Ontario Awards

Law360 Canada (March 21, 2025, 12:41 PM EDT) -- Eleven members of Ontario’s legal profession will be recognized for their achievements and contributions at this year’s Law Society Awards ceremony, to be held on May 28, 2025. Additionally, two individuals will receive the Human Rights Award for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of human rights.

According to a press release from the Law Society of Ontario, the awards presented and their recipients for 2025 are:

William J. Simpson Distinguished Paralegal Award: Michelle Zare

Lincoln Alexander Award: Antoine L. Collins

Laura Legge Award: Yola Ventresca

J. Shirley Denison Award: Sharryn J. Aiken

Law Society Medal:

Barry Corbin
Norman Farrell
Monique Jilesen
Melissa Kluger
Jim Phillips
Janice Rubin
Christopher Waters

Human Rights Award:

Ritu Gambhir
Jimmy Lai

The ceremony will be hosted by Peter Wardle, the society’s treasurer, and broadcast online at LSO.ca/2025AwardsEvent.
